Rodney Eugene Wilson

Mr. Rodney Eugene Wilson, age 60 of Deputy, Indiana, entered this life on August 28, 1961 in Carrollton, Kentucky. He was the loving son of the late Delmer Marshall and Donna Jean Mahoney Wilson. He grew up in Bedford, Kentucky and was a 1981 graduate of Trimble County High School. He was united in marriage to Thelma Fox Short on June 30, 1993 in Milton, Kentucky. They moved to Jefferson County, Indiana in 2000 and he retired from Arvin Meritor Industries in Columbus in 2013 after 28 years of service. An avid John Wayne fan, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and watching the Hallmark Channel, plus loved nature. Rodney died on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 7:19 p.m. at the Norton King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana after a long illness with multiple sclerosis.

A LOVING FAMILY Rodney will be missed by his loving wife of 29 years, Thelma Fox Short Wilson of Deputy, Indiana; his brother, Roger Wilson and his wife Ranie of Madison, Indiana; his sister, Robin Welty and her husband Travis of Bedford, Kentucky; his step-sons, Tim Fox and his wife Amanda of Columbus, Indiana, Eric Short and his wife Misty of Madison, Indiana; his step grandchildren, Layla, Lanie, Brelyn and Erica; his step great grandchildren, Kayson Grey Short, Kailani Elise Short, Penelope Mae Short; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Delmer Marshall Wilson, died December 8, 2020, his mother, Donna Jean Mahoney Wilson, died April 26, 2015, his sister, Rhonda Hemmer, and his step grandson, Skyler S. Short, died February 11, 2022.

FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. by Pastor Nathan Grissom at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Mahoney Cemetery near Bedford, Kentucky.

VISITATION Friends may visit Monday from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
