Ruth Joan Haas Harmon

Mrs. Ruth Joan Haas Harmon, age 90 of Hanover, Indiana, entered this life on January 13, 1932 in Ripley County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late William T. and Gladys Cole Haas. Joan was raised in Ripley County and was a 1949 graduate of New Marion High School. After high school, she moved to Indianapolis and began working for the State of Indiana license bureau. Joan was united in marriage to Truman "Jerry" Harmon on July 15, 1950 in Indianapolis and they were blessed with 63 years of marriage. She then began her 30 year career with American United Life Insurance Company and retired in 1981. Very intelligent and full of knowledge, Joan wrote books on her life, family, and the Bible. She loved to read, write, and study the Bible. Joan and Jerry enjoyed wintering in Port Charlotte, Florida and did for over 30 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Order No. 561 in Speedway, Indiana. Joan was of the Christian Faith. Joan died on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 7:15 p.m. at the Norton King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY Joan will be missed by her loving nephew and caregiver, Jerry Neace and his wife Kay of Madison, Indiana; her sister, Maxine Meisberger of Madison, Indiana; her caregiver and friend, Tirrie Jenkins of Hanover, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, William T. Haas, died 1960, her mother, Gladys Cole Haas, died February 9, 1996, her beloved husband of 64 years, Truman "Jerry" Harmon, died April 16, 2014, her sisters, Vera Eback and Ruby Pendleton, her brothers, Ralph Haas and Kenneth Haas, and her brother in law, Chester Allen Meisberger, died February 27, 2012.

FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. by Tirrie Jenkins at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow at the Washington Park Cemetery North in Indianapolis, Indiana.

VISITATION Friends may visit Thursday from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana.
