Donald L. Walp, Jr.

Mr. Donald L. Walp Jr., age 78, of Deputy, Indiana entered this life on September 15, l947 in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was the son of the late Donald L., Sr. and Marguerite Wyne Walp. He attended Deputy High School and lived in the Paris Crossing area all of his life. On August 14, 1966, he was united in marriage to Sondra Lou Case, who preceded him in death on November 19, 2019. They shared 53 years of marriage together and were blessed to raise their children, Stephen, Christina, Shannon, and Douglas. Donald was a self-employed logger all of his working career. He was a member of the Coffee Creek Baptist Church in Paris Crossing, Indiana. Donald enjoyed stock car racing, hunting and cutting up wood. Donald died on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 5:40 a.m. at the Hoosier Health and Living in Brownstown, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY Donald will be missed by his loving daughter, Christina "Christy" Walp Salsman (Steve Marion) of North Vernon, Indiana; his loving son, Shannon Greg Walp (Amanda) of Hayden, Indiana; Douglas Kidwell of Blocher, Indiana, who he raised as a son; his grandchildren, Casey Kyle, Logan, Lindsey, Tyler Paul, Dawson Lane, Alexia and Lela; his great-grandchildren, Camron, Carmen, Cayden; his sister, Regina McIntosh of Vernon, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Walp, Sr., died October 8, 1983, his mother, Marguerite Wyne Walp, died August 26, 2008, his beloved wife of 53 years, Sondra Lou Case Walp, died November 19, 2019, his loving son, Stephen Kyle Walp, died March 19, 2014.

FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Mike Shuler at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Pisgah Cemetery near Deputy, Indiana.

VISITATION Friends may visit Friday, December 26, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
