Biography

Mrs. Reta "Rita" Farrell Sullivan, age 88, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on October 19, 1924 near Pleasant in Jefferson County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of Alfred and Helen Steele Farrell. She was raised in Switzerland County and resided there until 1960. She was united in marriage on July 5, 1946 in Carrollton, Kentucky to Clarence Leland "Lee" Sullivan. This happy union was blessed with two daughters, Mary and Wilma, and two sons, Bob & Ernie. Rita was employed early in life for the Fiesta Restaurant as a waitress. She later worked for 20 years at the Conn Organ Company as a forelady for the assembly line. She then worked for fourteen years as the hostess at Scrub Board Laundry. She was a faithful member of the West Street Ministries in downtown Madison. Rita enjoyed crocheting, raising African violets, was an avid IU fan for years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandma. Rita died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the King's Daughters' Hospitals' Health in Madison, Indiana.
A LOVING FAMILY
Rita will be missed by her loving daughters: Wilma Sullivan of Madison, Indiana, Mary K. Owens and her husband, Noble of Lexington, Indiana; her loving sons: Robert "Bob" Sullivan and his wife, Bobbie of Beech Grove, Indiana, Ernie Sullivan and his wife, Sallie of Madison, Indiana; her half-sister: Mary Beach of Aurora, Indiana; her sisters in law: Mary Farrell of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Mary Charlotte Earls of Vevay, Indiana; her loving grandchildren: Penny, Rusty, James Lee and Cameron Allen; her adoring great grandchildren: Becca David & Ally; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred & Helen Steele Farrell; her husband, Clarence Leland "Lee" Sullivan died, Jan. 27, 2012; her brother, Clyde Bernard Farrell; her sisters, Pauline Juanita Brandon and Anna Marie Sedam Marsh; her niece, Judy Thornton.

FUNERAL CEREMONY

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., by the Rev. Jerry Wheeler at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.

VISITATION

Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
