Mr. Kenneth "Kenny" Price, age 85, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on May 20, 1924, in Posey County, Indiana. He was the son of Harvey Monroe & Belva Robison Price, both of whom preceded him in death. He resided in Posey County until the age of eight. The family moved to Jefferson County in 1932 and he resided here the rest of his life. He was a 1943, graduate of North Madison High School. He was inducted into the United States Army on October 4, 1943 in Madison, Indiana, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant serving in the Twenty First Infantry of the Twenty Fourth Division, during World War II. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater for 22 months and during his last six months he served as Squad Leader and led a Squad of Rifleman in action against the enemy. He was honorably discharged on January 15, 1946 from Camp Atterbury and received the Purple Heart Medal and the Combat Infantryman's Badge for his service. He was united in marriage on October 24, 1946 to Barbara York. This union was blessed with two daughters and son to bless their home. He was employed with the Humphrey Electric Shop as an electrician for several years. He then worked as a general laborer for the Indiana State Highway Department. He worked for a time period with the Jefferson Proving Ground as an electrician. In December, 1954 he began employment with the Indiana Kentucky Electric Corporation in Madison. He served as foreman of the Electrical Shop and retired in September 1986. Kenny was united in marriage on Sept. 9, 1971 at Wilson Creek in Shelby County, Indiana by Rev. Paul Coates to Alice L. Mee. He was a faithful member of the North Madison Baptist Church; Union Masonic Lodge No. 2 F & AM; and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. He enjoyed playing cards with his many friends, was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching IU Basketball and Baltimore Colts Football and all other sports. Kenny will be remembered for his friendly smile and his willingness to always help a friend. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Kenny died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mee Price of Madison, Indiana; his loving daughters: Carolyn Cohoon & her husband: Bob of Casselberry, Florida and Amy Price of Winter Park, Florida; his loving son: Stan Price of Mercer Island, Washington; his loving sister: Norma Stengel & her husband: Vince of Jeffersonville, Indiana; his loving sister in law: Lucy Price of Madison, Indiana; his loving grandchildren: Cybill Promisel, Chad Lykins, Anika Price, Brittany Price; his adoring great grandchildren: Jimmy Promisel & Rebekah Promisel; his nieces & nephews: Judy Fewell, John Price, Jeanie Gossom, Bruce Stengel; several great nieces, great nephews & other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harvey Monroe & Belva Robison Price; his brother: Victor Price; his niece: Peggy Boone.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., by Pastor Frank McGee at the North Madison Baptist Church, 1906 Orchard Street in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Madison, Indiana, with full military honors will conducted by Jefferson Post 9, of the American Legion.
VISITATION
Friends may call Saturday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana and Sunday from 12 Noon until time of the service at the North Madison Baptist Church, 1906 Orchard Street in Madison, Indiana.
MASONIC SERVICE
Union Masonic Lodge No. 2 F & AM will conduct a Masonic Service on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
