Mrs. Margaret A. Mahoney Purvis, age 76, of Hanover, Indiana, entered this life on March 16, 1933 in Madison, Indiana. She was the daughter of Charles Lucian & Gertrude King Mahoney. She spent her early life in Trimble County and the rest of her life in Jefferson County. She was united in marriage on December 23, 1948 in Carroll County, Kentucky to Robert Lindsey Purvis. To this union arrived three sons and a daughter to bless their home. Margaret & Robert Lindsey shared sixty years of marriage together until his death on December 20, 2008. She was employed for ten years as a clerk and stock lady with T.G. & Y. Department Store in Madison. She had worked for several years in the cafeteria at the Madison Junior High School. From 1971-1982 she was the bookkeeper for Bob's Vending Company. She also had been a caregiver to the elderly. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Hanover. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts, her grandchildren and visiting with her mother and her family. She was anxiously awaiting the birth of her fifth great grandchild. Margaret died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 6:05 a.m. in the emergency room at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Mahoney & his wife: Karen of Madison, Indiana, Denver Mahoney & his wife: Margie of Madison, Indiana, Larry Mahoney & his wife: Barbara Ann of Lexington, Indiana; her loving sisters: Bonnie Tilley & her husband: Norman of Milton, Kentucky, Evelyn Wingham & her husband: Tommy of Milton, Kentucky, Virginia Manship of Madison, Indiana; her loving sister in law: Bonnie Jean Mahoney of Madison, Indiana; her loving mother: Gertrude King Mahoney of Hanover, Indiana; her loving grandchildren: Aaron, Stephanie, Jason, Josh & Cory; her adoring great grandchildren: Aaliyah, Avery, Amber & Aariana; her great great granddaughter: Destani; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father: Charles Lucian Mahoney; her husband: Robert Lindsey "Bob" Purvis died: Dec. 20, 2008; her daughter: Linda Purvis died in 1949; her brother: Norman Mahoney; her sister: Mary Ethel Hamilton.


FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., by the Rev. Monty L. Mahoney at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky.


VISITATION
Friends may call Friday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
