Mrs. Linda Sue Alexander Irwin, age 61, of North Vernon, Indiana, formerly of Dupont, entered this life on October 23, 1948, in LaGrange, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Ray C. & Virginia A. Hamilton Alexander. She was raised in Dupont and was a 1966 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School in Madison. She was united in marriage on May 14, 1966 at the Dupont United Methodist Church to Robert L. Irwin. To this happy union arrived one daughter to bless their home. She had resided in North Vernon since 1973 and was employed with Dunlap & Company in Columbus for seven years as a secretary and switch board operator. She also enjoyed selling Home Interior Products for seven years. She loved flowers, was a fantastic cook and baker, she loved decorating, her cats and all animals. She was known for her homemade ice cream and cakes. She was a member of the former Middle fork Christian Church. Linda died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 4:30 a.m. at her home in North Vernon, Indiana with her loving family at her side.


A LOVING FAMILY
Linda Sue will be missed by her loving husband of nearly forty four years: Robert L. "Bob" Irwin of North Vernon, Indiana; her loving daughter: Jennifer Irwin of Columbus, Indiana; her loving mother: Virginia A. Hamilton Alexander of Dupont, Indiana; her loving brother: Mike Alexander & his companion: Barb Hembree of Madison, Indiana; her loving sister: Denise Grigsby & her husband: Ernie of Kent, Indiana; her nephews: Derek, Brandon & Brian; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father: Ray C. Alexander died: August 8, 2006; her father in law & mother in law: Isaiah & Helen Adams Irwin; her grandparents: Hurley & Mary Heveline Alexander and Rand & Clara Mae Spillman Hamilton.


FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., by Elder Mike Hoard at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont, Indiana.


VISITATION
Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dupont Cemetery Association or Hospice with Schneck Memorial. Cards are available at the funeral home.
