Mr. George Ellsworth Jones, age 73, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on December 11, 1936 in Madison, Indiana, the son of Wilson & Lillie Mae Handlon Jones. He was raised near Brooksburg and attended Brooksburg High School. He was drafted into the United States Army on August 2, 1961 in Madison, Indiana and rose to the rank of Specialist Four during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on August 1, 1967 from Fort Riley, Kansas, receiving the Good Conduct Medal. He was united in marriage on August 2, 1964 at Resurrection Lutheran Church to Judy Hopwood. This union was blessed with a son and a daughter. George & Judy shared nearly thirty three years of marriage together until her death on Feb. 23, 1997. He was employed for thirty one years with Williamson Heater Company in Madison as a welder and assembler. George was united in marriage on Feb. 14, 2006 to Pam Walker Kinman in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, western movies, and working on cars in his garage. He was a member of the Bass Masters and the National Rifle Association. George died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 6:44 a.m. at his home in Madison, Indiana in the loving arms of his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Wilson & Lillie Mae Handlon Jones; his first wife: Judy Hopwood Jones died: Feb. 23, 1997; his brother: Tom Jones; his sister: Irene Walters; his great granddaughter: Aja Rena Burton died: Dec. 2, 2008.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., by Bishop Jeff Kinman at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison, Indiana, full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by Jefferson Post 9, of the American Legion.
