Mrs. Elizabeth Jean "Betty" (Wolf) Buckles, age 82, of Spokane, Washington, entered this life on Feb. 28, 1927 at Pleasant, in Switzerland County, Indiana, the daughter of John & Ethel Tevis Wolf. She was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1945 graduate of Vevay High School. She attended Ball State Teachers College where she graduated in 1948. She received a Masters degree from Indiana University in 1955. She taught history, social studies and psychology during her career at Carmel HS(1948-49); Saluda(1950-51); Central HS(1951-1960); and Madison Consolidated HS from 1960 until her retirement in 1972. She was united in marriage on Dec. 27, 1953 to Arthur Buckles who passed away on April 12, 1985. She was a faithful member of the Coffee Creek Christian Church in Paris Crossing, and Hazeldell Christian Church in Carmel Indiana. She was a member of the Indiana Retired Teacher's Association and Gideon Bible Society. From 1991 to 2002 she lived in Fishers and Carmel In. From 2002 until her death she lived in Spokane, Washington. Betty died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 6:06 p.m. after a brief illness at the Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane, Washington.

Betty will be missed by her loving nephews & nieces: Donald & Florence McCloskey of Nine Mile Falls, Washington, Bonnie & James Priest of Greenfield, Indiana, Richard & Nancy Young of Paris Crossing, Indiana, James R. & Margaret Young of Seymour, Indiana; numerous great nieces, great nephews, other relatives & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: John & Ethel Tevis Wolf; her husband, Arthur Buckles who died April 12, 1985; her brother: Russel Wolf; and her sisters: Bearl Warner, Lillian Rix and Marie McCloskey.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., by Bro. Ron McKinney, at the Coffee Creek Christian Church, 2615 W. SR 250 in Paris Crossing, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Coffee Creek Christian Church Cemetery in Paris Crossing, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may call Wednesday, March 3, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana and Thursday from 12 Noon until time of the service at the Coffee Creek Christian Church, 2615 W. SR 250 in Paris Crossing, Indiana.
